Studio Owner & Director
Liz has a passion for dance and a desire to see others express themselves through the arts. She has danced since 3 years old and began teaching dance at the age of 17. She has studied tap, jazz, ballet, modern and lyrical. She received 10 years of tap training under the instruction of a former Radio City Music Hall Rockette. Liz graduated from Madison University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education Counseling and lives in Frederick with her husband Jon. Liz stays very busy outside of the studio with her family of 6! Liz and her husband Jon have 4 children. Their family grew by 2 when they welcomed twins Beckett and Berklie in September of 2015 who joined their siblings, Camden and Kennedi. Together as a family they enjoy being outside, watching movies on their barn in the summer, going to the beach, and having dance parties in the living room.
Stephanie is a native of Bellaire, OH. She received her BFA in ballet from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA. Stephanie also studied at Nashville Ballet and Hubbard Street Dance in Chicago. “Jingle” has danced with Pillow Project Dance Co., worked as a featured dancer on the set of Step Up, and toured with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines performing with such artist as Marty Thomas and Jennifer Hudson. You can see her in music videos for Telling on Trixie, The Woodpeckers, Hugo, and Tori Green. Living in New York City, Miss Stephanie performed and choreographed for the contemporary dance theater company, The MoveShop. (moveshop.org) When not working with the company Stephanie is teaching and setting choreography nationally and internationally. Most recently, a move to Maryland brought her to To the Pointe! Tav was born in Hawaii into a family of musicians. Though she too sang from an early age, she soon fell in love with dance. She started to learn hula from the age of 3, and has carried her love of dance across the country and through her whole life. She studied tap, jazz, and ballet in her youth and started teaching at 15 with the Barbara Roxianne School of Dance in Georgia. She attended the Catholic University of America and became an active member of the ballroom dance team, participating in competitions and helping host dance events. After college, she taught ballroom and salsa dancing through the Ballroom Dance Company and Washington Dance Institute. She has danced with Equinox Dance Company as a guest artist for four seasons. Tav is thrilled to now be a member of TTPSOD and looks forward to sharing her love of dance with you. She currently lives in Frederick with her husband Zachary and 2 dancing little boys, Oliver and Quin.
Mardia has been dancing for over twenty years. Though she prefers Tap, she also enjoys lyrical, jazz, ballet and modern. Mardia has won numerous awards in dance and in theatre; some of which include Mississippi Theatre Associations Best Director, Mississippi's Ideal Miss, and Dixie Darlings Kicks of the Year. In high school Mardia helped teach tap, jazz and ballet and assisted with summer camps around the country. In college she was a member of the world renowned University of Southern Mississippi Dixie Darlings and majored in Dental Hygiene and Education. After college Mardia got married and has spent the last few years traveling around the country with her husband. Mardia is super excited be teaching dance again and can’t wait to join the To the Pointe team!
Sara is thrilled to be teaching at TTPSOD. Sara began studying dance at the age of 2 and has continued as both a student and teacher to the present. Her passion for musical theatre has taken her all over the country having performed for Walt Disney World and on various stages and in recording studios along the east coast. Her love of the stage further grew in college and she holds a BA in Communication from Virginia Tech where she performed with The Theatre School (Joanne/Godspell) and The New Virginian’s as a vocal soloist and quartet lead (In Four), and recorded three albums. Her varied musical theatre experience includes website design, costume design, choreography, hair and makeup design, performance credits and awards. Sara has also been honored to be a representative soloist for the Rockville Musical Theatre, Bethesda Little Theatre and Maryland Choral Arts Society in various local festivals, showcases and campaign galas. In addition to teaching at TTPSOD, she is also the mother of three competition team dancers, a licensed Zumba instructor, teaches musical theatre in private practice and holds a week-long, not-for-profit, summer camp providing additional instruction on auditioning, resume preparation, general musical theatre skills and Q&A from a panel of local professionals. Lynn started dancing at age 2 and never stopped! She has been teaching for over 40 years, which includes owning her own studio! After living in Connecticut all her life, she recently moved to Virginia to be close to her daughter and son-in-law. In Connecticut, Lynn taught Tap and Jazz at Vinnie’s Jump & Jive, a dance studio affiliated with the Community Health Center’s Wellness Program. She was the Director of Dance for the City of Middletown, Middlesex County, and she was also an Elementary School Substitute Teacher through the Middletown Board of Education/Public School System for almost 10 years before her move to Virginia. Upon opening her own studio in 1975, Lynn had successfully became a member of Dance Masters of America [Certified by Test to Teach] (DMA) and Dance Educators of America (DEA). She is also a member of the DTN Social Media Network. Lynn has studied under the direction of prominent NYC teachers such as Charles Kelly; Charles Goddertz; Frank Hatchett; Phil Black; Peter Gennaro; and Luigi, just to name a few. Lynn enjoys teaching dance to both children and adults! She is very excited to begin this new chapter in her life, and looks forward to teaching dance at "To The Pointe Studio of Dance!"
Rachel is a mover and maker based just steps away from the Potomac in downtown Brunswick, MD. She teaches dance, visual art and yoga classes for kids from 1-92 in schools and studios in Maryland and Virginia. Rachel graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Dance from the University of Maryland in 2012. In 2014, she completed her yoga teacher training with Yoga District, a Yoga Activist affiliate organization in Washington, D.C. Most recently she reconnected with her love of visual art in creating an arts curriculum and teaching art part time for the Montessori School of Leesburg and Purcellville. Rachel is truly passionate about the creative process and the self-discovery, mindfulness and joy the arts impart! She is interested in creating opportunities for skillful self-expression for all of her students and especially enjoys working with beginners of all ages. She is excited to learn and create with her To The Pointe Studio of Dance students this season!

With a friendly smile and a caring spirit, Carol will help our TTPSOD families find the answers they need, to ensure the best possible dance experience here at To the Pointe. She enjoys being part of the studio team, assisting in any capacity needed, to help the studio run effectively and efficiently. She is a happily married homeschool mom of three, who has a passion to guide young hearts and minds toward discovering their unique and individual talents within. Hobbies include reading, crocheting and gardening. Once in a great while, you may find her out on a golf course.
