Tav was born in Hawaii into a family of musicians. Though she too sang from an early age, she soon fell in love with dance. She started to learn hula from the age of 3, and has carried her love of dance across the country and through her whole life. She studied tap, jazz, and ballet in her youth and started teaching at 15 with the Barbara Roxianne School of Dance in Georgia. She attended the Catholic University of America and became an active member of the ballroom dance team, participating in competitions and helping host dance events. After college, she taught ballroom and salsa dancing through the Ballroom Dance Company and Washington Dance Institute. She has danced with Equinox Dance Company as a guest artist for four seasons. Tav is thrilled to now be a member of TTPSOD and looks forward to sharing her love of dance with you. This is Veronica’s first season teaching at To The Pointe and she could not be more excited! She is a senior at Brunswick High School and began dancing at the age of 4. This is her 7th season dancing at TTP and her 3rd year as a member of Team. She is very involved at TTP, and for the past 3 years she was a class assistant and a camp counselor at Camp PD. In addition, she attended the Academy for the Fine Arts Dance Focus at Governor Thomas Johnson High School, which is a rigorous and college-preparatory dance program. There she was inducted into the National Honor Society for Dance Arts. Veronica is eager to share her love of dance with all the little ones!
Sarah is a busy homeschool mom of six kiddos who is excited to join the TTP staff this year. Four of her kids will be dancing at the studio as well, two of them on team. Last dance season, Sarah served with the TTP Booster Club as head of fundraising. She grew up as a military kid moving around the country and being exposed to lots of different styles of music. Sarah plays several musical instruments, sings, and loves to dance. She really flourished in her high school show choir and even attended Show Choir Camps of America where she was selected for the elite dance team. After high school Sarah became musical director for a local high school’s drama department for their large musical productions. She went on to join a Frederick-based a cappella chorus and later started her own contemporary a cappella group with her husband. Sarah looks forward to sharing her love of singing and dance with her students in Vocal Production class this year!
Jennifer graduated high school in 2017 and is currently working toward an associate’s degree from Frederick Community College. During Jen’s grade school years, she developed and cultivated a love for the arts. She is always willing to try anything artistic, from drawing, painting, and pottery to singing, piano, and dance. Dance however, has by far had the greatest impact on her life and has been her favorite form of artistic expression. She has enjoyed many wonderful years with TTP, as her dancing career began here. The year that the studio opened was the year Jennifer took her very first dance class. The following year she joined Team and her involvement with dance and the studio has escalated ever since. This will be Jen’s third year teaching at To The Pointe Studio of Dance and she is excited to have the opportunity to continue sharing her passion for dance with her students!
